Spilt Milk festival: Another Aussie music festival is cancelled in huge blow to fans

The Spilt Milk festival has been cancelled, in a further blow for Australian music lovers.

It is the latest in a series of festivals that have been cancelled as the sector has had a tough year.

The festival organizers broke the sad news via Instagram.

“Sorry pookies, we couldn’t give you the Spilt Milk you deserve this year. So I’m going to take a little break and then I’ll be back when I can make all your dreams come true. I miss you xx SPILT MILK,” the statement read.

Last year, Post Malone and Dom Dolla headlined Spilt Milk.

It is a travelling festival with stops in Canberra, Gold Coast, Ballarat and Perth.

It is unclear why the festival was cancelled. Other festivals had trouble selling enough tickets.

Splendour in the Grass in northern New South Wales, the Caloundra Music Festival on the Sunshine Coast, the Coastal Jam in Victoria and the Vintage Vibes Festival in Adelaide were all cancelled due to financial constraints.

The New South Wales Parliament has launched an inquiry into the festival sector to gain insight into the challenges facing organisers.

More to come.
