Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse hit the box office with a bang.
The animated superhero movie – a sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – had its best opening of the summer, grossing an estimated $120 million over the weekend, according to deadline.
That makes it the biggest opening of the summer movie season to date, surpassing the $118.4 million debut of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The film is the third best opening for any film in the Spider-Man franchise, after No Way Home (2021) and Spider-Man 3 (2007).
