Spice Girls star Mel B signs ‘six-figure deal to appear on Holly Willoughby’s new Netflix show Bear Hunt and has already jetted to Costa Rica to film’
Mel B has reportedly signed on for the new Netflix series Bear Hunt, starring Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls.
The Spice Girl, 48, is said to have agreed to pay a six-figure sum to appear on the grueling endurance show, in which stars will be forced to rely on their survival skills to avoid master adventurer Bear.
According to The sunMel flew to Costa Rica this weekend to join the celebrity line-up as filming begins for the reality series, which premieres next year.
Mel has apparently told friends she signed up for the show to fund her wedding to boyfriend Rory McPhee, 36, which will take place at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Mel, who announced her engagement to Rory in November 2022, revealed she plans to tie the knot in the iconic cathedral as she is an MBE.

She explained: ‘Because I have an MBE I can get married in St Paul’s. They only do a small number of weddings a year, so we’re on the waiting list.’
Mel said the Spice Girls have been invited, but added: “They won’t be bridesmaids though, we’re all too old.”
The singer’s TV appearance will undoubtedly upset her Spice Girls bandmates, who may worry that she will drop more rumors about their group.
The Spice Girls recently reunited at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations at Oswald’s private members club in London last weekend.
Mel was believed to have had an ‘icy’ reunion with Geri Horner at the bash, as it was claimed they had an ense exchange before keeping their distance, after Mel claimed in a recent interview that Geri has lied about her age.
Days after the party, Mel appeared to address the speculation about her conversation with Geri on Instagram.
Mel appeared to have extended an olive branch, as she shared a group photo with her Spice Girls bandmates on Instagram.
She wrote: ‘What an amazing girl power weekend with all my girls, I have soooo much love and respect for you all #friendshipneverends.’

Mel and Geri were reunited for the luxurious bash at Oswald’s in London and posed for a group photo together with fellow band members Emma Bunton, Victoria and Mel C – although they were on the opposite side of the queue.
But The sun claimed Geri, 51, and Mel B, 48, were feeling tense after Mel claimed Ginger Spice isn’t 51 years old.
Despite traveling the world together in the band’s heyday, Scary Spice claimed Geri always kept her passport close to her chest so she “still doesn’t know” how old she is.
And following the interview, the pair are said to have kept their distance from each other at Victoria’s party last weekend – before Mel B reportedly tried to offer an olive branch.
A source told the publication: ‘Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party, but things didn’t go as planned. She laughed it all off, but Geri didn’t seem interested in what she had to say and walked away.
‘When it came to taking the group photo, Geri stayed as far away from Mel as possible, which was difficult to watch.
“Geri wanted to be there to celebrate and laugh with everyone, and not talk to Mel about the embarrassing things she said about her.”

In the caption, she noted that she has “so much love and respect” for all her Spice Girls bandmates
The group consisted of Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner (seen in London in 1995)
Later in the evening, during the lavish festivities, all five Spice Girls came together to sing one of their hit songs, Stop, to the star-studded guests – and once again the pair were separated.
Representatives for Mel B and Geri were contacted by MailOnline for comment.
In Bear Hunt, which will reportedly star Mel, a group of celebrities will learn a series of survival skills with seasoned adventurer Bear Grylls.
Bear will then chase the stars through the jungle in an attempt to catch them before they can reach the end of the show and win.
Other stars scheduled to appear include retired rugby pro Danny Cipriani.
Netflix says of the series: ‘Bear believes there is an action hero in all of us – even the celebs – but how strong is their will to survive?
‘As Bear puts them to the test, those who fail to impress face the dreaded ‘Bear Hunt’ – a brutal game of cat and mouse where they are hunted down and, if caught, eliminated from the show .’
