Spencer Matthews shows off his incredible body transformation since his Made in Chelsea days

Spencer Matthew has shown off his incredible body transformation since his years with Made In Chelsea.

The TV personality, 34, posted a ‘before and after’ comparison of his physique a decade ago compared to now, revealing his new ripped look and sculpted abs.

During his time on MIC between 2011 and 2015, ‘bad boy’ Spencer was notorious for attending drunken parties with boyfriend Jamie Laing and for serially dating cast members such as Louise Thompson and Lucy Watson.

Spencer, who shares three children with his wife Vogue Williams, has been open about his journey to sobriety.

He has now spoken out about his body transformation, revealing that his life “went out of control” during the show due to a “drinking problem.”

Spencer posted on Instagram on Sunday: “In the photo on the left, my life was spiraling out of control. It was during Made In Chelsea and I had a drinking problem.

“I drank too much almost daily and had a deceptive sense of grandeur. I was not comfortable in my own skin and change felt like too much effort.

“I thought that because I was a prominent character on a hit TV show things would just happen for me, not realizing that true success only comes through hard graft and determination.

‘I had no routine, no motivation, no drive and no plan.

“My unstoppable hunger for socializing became detrimental to my health and well-being.”

Spencer showed off his newly defined torso and then shared his secrets behind his new look.

The former Jump contestant has stopped drinking since welcoming his first child in 2018, even founding his own CleanCo brand, which offers alternatives to alcohol.

Spencer also attributes his new body to “training religiously” and “lifting weights three times a week.”

He continued, “On the right side, 10 years later, I’ve embraced a different lifestyle and have self-discipline and purpose.

“I exercised religiously, lifting weights three times a week, running, not drinking and watching my health.

‘A routine, a clear plan and consistency is important. Your goals don’t reach themselves. I was out of breath walking up a single flight of stairs…”

The star went on to share his next steps for his fitness program, which included a spectacular 230km race through the Amazon rainforest in support of the Michael Matthews Foundation.

Spencer’s brother Michael died at the age of 22 in 1999 while climbing the highest mountain in the world, after becoming the youngest Briton to ever summit.

Spencer said: ‘I’m currently in the middle of training for the Jungle Ultra for the Michael Matthews Foundation – a 230km self-sustained running race through the Amazon rainforest.

“MMF was established over 20 years ago in memory of my late brother Michael who died on his descent from the summit of Everest.

‘The foundation is committed to education and safety for children in remote and underprivileged areas in rural Tanzania. We have helped more than 7000 children so far.

Back then: On Made In Chelsea, Spencer was known for his drinking, which he has now admitted was a ‘problem’

Mature: Spencer is now married to Vogue Williams, while Jamie recently tied the knot with his co-star Sophie Habboo

“This race is a challenge, but it’s nothing compared to the struggle these kids would have to go through every day without our support…

“I’m thrilled to be running for a cause that means so much to me, and I hope to make Michael proud.”

It comes after Spencer has reunited with Jamie Laing after claiming he was ‘not invited’ to his best friend’s wedding last week.

The former Made In Chelsea co-stars joined their wives Vogue Williams, 37, and Sophie Habboo, 29, to tape an episode of the newlywed couple’s NearlyWeds podcast on Thursday.

McVitie’s heir Jamie married co-star Sophie at the Chelsea Registry Office last Friday morning, but Spencer, Vogue and their three children were strangely absent from the ceremony.

Instead, Spencer and his family were abroad for a planned holiday in Portugal – something he says happened because of “serious miscommunication” from Jamie.

But all rumors of a feud aside, the couples smiled side by side as they sat down in the studio together.

Jamie and Sophie wrote on Instagram on their NearlyWeds podcast account, “We had some *very* special guests on the pod today.”

Earlier this week, Spencer accused his best friend Jamie of “serious miscommunication” after claiming he had “disapproved” of his recent marriage.

Discussing marriage on the Spencer & Vogue podcastadmitted the TV personality and his presenter wife and they were unhappy with the criticism leveled at them for not attending.

Spencer said, “I’m getting hammered for turning down my best friend’s wedding” for going on vacation and then posting about my vacation.

“I’m not here to bitch about my best friends, but there’s been a serious miscommunication from him.

“I just want to set things right more than anything. I’m not here to whine. I wasn’t invited to this part of Jamie’s wedding, and neither was Vogue.”
