“And you knew that the people who thought they were close to you would love to trip you up in a scene.”

Spencer, who is best known for starring on the E4 show, said his decision to leave Made In Chelsea was a ‘great’ one and that he is lucky to have ‘thick skin’.

“I remember waking up one morning and saying I’m done, I’m going to film this scene and then I’m out,” he said.

‘It was a great decision. Although I look back fondly on much of what we photographed in the early days.

‘Very nice, like we’ve done great things. And we went to amazing places in the world. And I still have some relationships from the show.

“I think if it was good, it was great. And if it was bad, it wasn’t great.

‘And sometimes a painting was painted, which was not accurate at all.

“And you would be abused by thousands of people online, every day, for weeks. And it felt very unfair. Because it wasn’t real.

“I’m lucky that I have thick skin and resilience and I can brush it off and it doesn’t affect me in a really bad way.

“But some people don’t, some people cry themselves to sleep every night. And that was difficult to see.’
