Spencer Matthews is reportedly “furious” that Disney+ has delayed her Finding Michael documentary.
Fans vented their fury on Saturday when the show, originally scheduled to premiere on Friday, did not premiere as scheduled.
It follows the 34-year-old Made In Chelsea star as he tries to recover the body of his late brother Michael on Mount Everest, after he went missing in 1999.
Spencer then wrote a message on her Instagram story explaining that the ‘debut date has changed’ but was unable to update fans with the new time.
But now it has been claimed that the streaming giant pulled the plug at the last minute because the film shows dead bodies and needs to be re-edited.
‘There have been some VERY heated conversations!’ Spencer Matthews ‘Furious’ Disney+ Delays Finding Michael Documentary Due To Dead Body Footage
Where is? Fans vented their fury on Saturday when the show, originally scheduled to premiere on Friday, did not premiere as scheduled.
said a source Mirror: ‘This was a real disaster. After endless viewings, two official screenings, and an entire campaign building up to release on March 3, it was decided with hours to go that the images of the bodies could be considered insensitive.
“Everest is often too dangerous to recover those who died in the death zone, and the film reflects that. The fact that this was only brought up hours before launch, and public screenings, is staggering.
‘So the release date has just been scrapped. Meanwhile, Spencer is doing interviews in which she has to change the date. He was absolutely furious and there have been some very heated conversations this week.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Spencer and Disney+ for comment.
Spencer recently told her followers: Apologies to everyone trying to watch Finding Michael on Disney+. The debut date has changed and we will update you as soon as we have the schedules.
He continued: ‘This will be in the near future. Thanks for all your support.’
Fans of the show expressed their anger at the streaming service on Twitter, questioning when the long-awaited documentary would be available.
One viewer wrote: ‘Why has the Finding Michael release date been pushed back? Promotion for the documentary opening today has been going on all week, so why the last-minute delay?
Upsetting: The harrowing new show follows Spencer as she tries to recover the body of her late brother Michael on Mount Everest, after he went missing in 1999.
Another added: ‘Well the Finding Michael promo is back on now but the statuses are coming soon. It’s a shame you don’t update your paying customers about this, and you ask for subscriptions too.’
‘Where is he looking for Michael? Did you say the release date was March 3? It’s now March 4th and it’s nowhere to be seen, I met with you guys to look at this so I’d like to get my subscription back for the month please. As an aside, don’t promise something if you can’t deliver,” another irate fan noted.
Someone else reasoned: ‘Maybe it’s technology issues? Especially considering how important it is to him and his family: he’ll keep his planned commitments, he doesn’t control @DisneyPlusUK. It’s a shame, but I’m sure it will be available soon.
When contacted by MailOnline, Disney+ later said in a statement: “We are sorry that Finding Michael’s debut date has changed on Disney+.
‘We will inform you as soon as we have new schedules for its release. This will be in the near future. Thank you for your patience.’
Earlier this week, Spencer fought back tears as she discussed her attempts to recover her late brother’s body from Mount Everest on The One Show on Thursday.
Old Etonion gasped as he spoke of how Michael made history as the youngest Briton to summit at 22 in 1999, but tragically died on the perilous mountain.
Spencer was on the show to talk about her new Disney+ documentary, Finding Michael, released on Friday.

The TV star, who was only 10 when it happened, retold Alex Jones and Roman Kemp about Michael’s last trip and how he retraced his steps to try and get him home.
Spencer said, “When Michael disappeared, by the time some people realized he was missing, it was too late.” No one survives the night, really. A couple of cases maybe.
Michael is said to have gotten into trouble after starting his descent down the south drop through the “death zone” on May 13, 1999.
He was the brother of Pippa Middleton’s husband, 47-year-old racing driver-turned-hedge-fund manager James Matthews.
The experienced mountaineer, who had previously conquered Aconcagua, the Pyrenees and the Swiss Alps, was the 162nd person to die on Everest.
Spencer went on to detail how he made the “tough decision” to go on the mission himself.
Tragic: Michael is said to have gotten into trouble after starting his descent down the south descent through the ‘death zone’ on May 13, 1999.
‘In 2017, the family was sent a photo of a body on the mountain and claimed it could be Michael. In fact, it looked like it might be, with similar summit suits. It’s the first time I thought that even body recovery was possible.
‘I kept marking in my head: “And if it’s him?”. I’ve certainly grown up with the feeling that he’s up there and died and stayed up there. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a body to mourn for my family?’
We gathered all the information we had. Some of the footage of Michael on the mountain I’ve never seen before,” he said, growing emotional as the interview progressed.
“It was the first time I had seen him on camera, because as a kid we didn’t make home movies or anything.
“Retracing his steps and understanding his final days a little better was quite cathartic for me…”
The former Made In Chelsea star filmed Finding Michael with the help of survivor Bear Grylls and mountaineer Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja.
Challenge: Before his release, he said, ‘I’m not the most emotional person, but the closer we got to the mountain, the more powerful my feelings became. It’s the closest I’ve felt to Mike’
