Tedesco was sacked by Leipzig last month after being in charge for less than a year. He previously coached Spartak Moscow, Schalke and Ore Mountains.
Maresca is currently Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City, where he is highly regarded and the Premier League champions are unlikely to let him leave at this stage of the season.
Maresca was previously assistant boss at Ascoli and Sevilla and took on a similar position at West Ham in 2018.

He then coached City’s Elite Development Squad before leading Parma, who fired him in November 2021.
Hasenhuttl has been in charge of Southampton since December 2018, with Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Thomas Frank being the only Premier League managers to have worked longer at their clubs.
Of his 167 games to date, Hasenhuttl has won 58, drawn 39 and lost 70.
Southampton, who have lost four of their last five games, will face Manchester City on Saturday.
