Southampton boss Nathan Jones has hit back at fan criticism after his team claimed an FA Cup win over Crystal Palace.
The Saints booked their place in the next round of the competition after goals from James Ward-Prowse and Adam Armstrong saw them disallow Odsonne Edouard’s opening goal.
It was Jones’ second win in charge of the club, and after fans expressed their discontent with the manager during the game, he addressed it all in a rather blunt post-match interview.
Southampton boss Nathan Jones hit back at fans calling his style of football ‘s***’
The Saints posted a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Saturday
During the close contest at Selhurst Park, frustrated Saints fans could be heard chanting: ‘Nathan Jones, your football sucks.’
Speaking about his side’s performance, Jones also addressed the singing, saying, “We push with aggression and that’s the really nice thing because we want to be a really high-paced team.”
‘That means that sometimes we will give away the ball. But that doesn’t mean my football sucks.’
Although Jones earned his second win in charge of the club, he still needs a Premier League win to help win over the fans.
The Saints have lost all three of their games since the return of domestic soccer after the World Cup break and have lost six in a row in their top flight.

James Ward-Prowse scored Southampton’s first goal that helped kickstart their comeback
Jones took charge of Southampton in early November following the sacking of Ralph Hassenhuttl after a series of poor results.
The 49-year-old had spent two years at Luton Town where he managed to keep the club safe from relegation in the Championship, a similar task to the one he faces at St Marys.
The Southampton manager will be hoping for another win in their next game, which will take them on against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
The Saints hope they can continue their winning form and avoid relegation.
