Welcome back to the Soul of Sport. For our latest episode of the series, ANDY HOOPER traveled to Birmingham to witness the drama of the World Trampoline Gymnastics Championships.
More than 1,000 gymnasts from more than 40 countries competed over eight days of the 37th edition of the competition, which is being held at the Utilita Arena.
It was the first time since 2011 that Birmingham has hosted these championships, and the city will also host the World Age Group Competitions the following week.
It was an emotionally charged match for Great Britain as Bryony Page led the way in winning the world championships, with another gold in the women’s tumbling final, silver in the men’s tumbling final and bronze medals in the synchro final and women’s all-round team. last.
