Sosandar benefited from strong demand over Christmas as it plans to open new stores, writes Dan Cannon.
The womenswear brand, based in Wilmslow, Cheshire, said sales of festive wear were ‘strong’ in the three months to December 31.
Denim and knitwear have also flourished at the company, which was founded in 2015 by Julie Lavington and Alison Hall.
Sales fell 14.6 per cent to £12.2 million compared to last Christmas, but this was because discounts were reduced to boost profits. They increased by about 50 percent compared to the first and second quarters.
Shares rose 12 percent, while Sosandar said it was on track for an annual profit of £1 million, compared with a loss of £0.3 million in 2023.
In contrast to the gloom elsewhere on the High Street, the group is opening stores in Harrogate and Bath, adding to the four branches it already has in Britain.
