Sopranos star Drea de Matteo has claimed she only joined OnlyFans because she refused to get the COVID vaccine, costing her acting gigs, as she slammed fans’ reactions to the move.
The 51-year-old actress used Instagram last month to promote her new platform on the content subscription platform, which is largely known for hosting X-rated content.
Speaking to Fox News, the actress revealed that she was forced to use the subscription site, which charges her $15, after refusing to take the COVID shot.
She told the news site: ‘I know some people have said nasty things about me joining OnlyFans. But you know, the way we see it in this house is that Mom is a warrior and she doesn’t accept defeat.
‘I’m a huge supporter of stay-at-home mothers and women who love raising their children. I balanced it all, and I did it all.”
The actress announced last month that she would now be using the subscription-based platform, which is largely known for X-rated content
She played the role of Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos from 1999 to 2006 and won an Emmy Award in 2004 for her performance in the hit series.

She continued: ‘I didn’t know that this would have to be a life change at a time when I would have to relax a bit, I would have to change careers and come up with new things because my own industry thinks I’m a savage .’
De Matteo was referring to the reaction within the film industry to her stance on COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
The actress told the newspaper that her agent dropped her opinion and that she almost lost her house.
She added: “You could say I was a bad girl because I didn’t follow the rules a few years ago.
‘So I never want to be at the mercy of mandates, strikes or anything like that again.
The Sons of Anarchy star said her boyfriend Robby Staebler, from the band All Them Witches, and her children from a previous relationship support the move.
She continued, “My kids were the ones who said, ‘Do it.’ She (De Matteo’s daughter) will also edit the photos because they want certain things that we can’t do. I used to have a lot of money.
‘And then I suddenly went from being allowed to work to never being allowed to work again.
“I was never the kind of actor who took jobs just to stay in the business. I literally took jobs to feed my family.”
During the pandemic, Hollywood unions and major film studios agreed to plans to limit production disruptions by introducing mandatory vaccination policies for casts and crews.

The actress played La Cerva on The Sopranos for seven years and her character was the longtime girlfriend and later fiancée of Tony Soprano’s protégé, Christopher Moltisanti.
De Matteo’s good looks were often their own subplot in the show. One scene showed FBI agents spying on her character during a tennis lesson.
In reality, Matteo is the mother of two children. In 2015, she lost her longtime home in New York City to a gas explosion.
After The Sopranos ended in 2007, De Matteo leaned on her success in the series.
She played Joey Tribbiani’s sister Gina in the Friends spin-off Joey from 2004 to 2006 and appeared as Angie Bolen in Desperate Housewives between 2009 and 2010.
The actress hosted the re-watch podcast titled Made Woman and has been selling merchandise including t-shirts that say ‘Adriana f***ing La Cerva’.
The phrase was printed in the iconic font from The Sopranos and a gun was used in place of the letter ‘r’.
