Sophie Kasaei speaks out on the moment Charlotte Crosby quit Geordie Shore for good after explosive row with Marnie Simpson

Sophie Kasaei has spoken out about the moment Charlotte Crosby left Geordie Shore for good after an explosive row with Marnie Simpson.

The reality star, 34, – who is Marnie's cousin and Charlotte's best friend – admitted things are still 'raw' between certain cast members as she discussed the upcoming 24th series, which is set in Cyprus.

Charlotte, 33, quit the show after falling out with Marnie, 31, over a high chair.

The pair have since unfollowed each other on social media and reportedly haven't spoken since things got heated during filming.

Sophie said: 'When Charlotte got mad and left, Holly and I [Hagan] tried everything to keep her there.'

Sophie continued in her interview with OK! Magazine: 'And then Marnie is clearly angry, and I want to go to Marnie too. When you're in the middle, you want to be very honest and not take sides. You just want everyone to be able to move on.'

The reality TV star added that the whole thing was “really tough” and that it's a “shame” that things turned out the way they did.

Sophie continued: “It's obviously still very raw. And they have to watch it and go through it all again, which won't be fun.”

She insisted that “there will come a day when they have to be in the same room with each other,” adding, “Who knows what will happen?”

Sophie's comments come after Charlotte became emotional in August when she announced she had left the show.

The mother-of-one shot to fame on the first series of the MTV show in 2011 and stayed until 2016, before returning in 2022.

Charlotte – who shares 14-month-old daughter Alba with fiancé Jake Ankers – previously revealed that filming of the latest series went 'so terribly wrong', saying she can't bear to watch the new episodes.

The star flew back from Cyprus early after filming the show for just two days last year, and was left 'sad, paranoid and worried' about the after-effects of her departure.

Marnie, mother of two children of Oax and Rox, got into an argument with Charlotte about a high chair. The argument was so fiery that Charlotte left the show for good (pictured with husband Casey Johnson)

Speaking on her Always On podcast, Charlotte said: 'It all went so terribly wrong in the end. I don't know why, but the whole series, I discovered later, was a bit weird. I didn't expect it to turn out this way, and that's why I'm sad.

'I'm sad for all kinds of reasons. I'm sad that I took Alba and Jake, my family, to a show I loved so much and it went so badly wrong.

'I feel like I could cry talking about it. I felt extremely guilty because I didn't know any better. I just thought we would have so much fun.

'We didn't do that. We did have some good times. Listen, it was fun. I was only there for two days, but we had some great times in quarantine.

'There was a silly argument, mainly over a highchair, which escalated. And I just left. I just had to get away from that environment. I had never raised my voice in front of Alba, and I did that during this argument, and I thought, “Oh God, I feel absolutely terrible.” I've never been so angry and wound up.'

She became emotional and said, 'As a mother you feel so guilty. I was full of guilt. I felt anxious, I felt guilty. I think the weeks after I came off the show I just felt terrible. I was so worried.

'Did I make a bad decision to go there with my family? I worried about what everyone would say about me leaving. After that it all just got worse.'

Charlotte admitted she can't bear to watch the new series: 'If I'm honest I don't think I'm going to watch the show because I'm so scared of it,' but insisted at the time: 'The moral The story is that I haven't really had an argument with anyone. I have no ill feelings towards anyone.

'There was just a stupid argument. I still love them all very much. You just have to look. It just fills us with fear. I don't even know why.'

The 24th series of Geordie Shore airs exclusively on Paramount+ UK and MTV UK on Tuesday, January 9.
