Sophie Delezio shares exciting baby news at gender reveal party as she awaits the birth of her first child

Sophie Delezio is pregnant with her first child and she celebrated this week with a gender reveal party.

The miraculous survivor of a double car crash gave a glimpse into the festivities, right up to the moment she dropped blue confetti revealing she was expecting a boy.

“It’s a… BOY!! We can’t wait to welcome you into the world little guy! Your mom and dad are so excited to meet you,” the 23-year-old wrote in her Instagram caption.

The party, which was attended by friends and family, was decorated in pastel colours, including balloons and baby blocks.

The expectant mother posed alongside her partner Joseph and showed off her blossoming baby bump in a white hobo dress.

She then put on a tight blue dress to indicate the baby’s gender, placing her hand on her belly as she posed next to the baby blocks.

Pastel-colored cupcakes were also served to the guests and photos of the bride and groom and the ultrasound were hung up as decoration.

“We’re celebrating the arrival of our little one with a super fun baby shower and a special surprise for all the guests!” Sophie wrote on Instagram.

‘@thetroseph and I are beyond grateful for the love, laughter and amazing memories we’ve made with friends and family near and far. Our little bubba is so loved already’

Sophie shared the exciting news of her pregnancy on social media in April, along with a gallery of celebratory photos.

In the first photo, Sophie and her partner Joseph pose proudly on the beach in Manly, Sydney.

The couple look delighted as they hold Sophie’s growing baby bump together.

“The most beautiful gift is coming in September!” she wrote, with a baby face and a heart emoji.

It wasn’t long before the post was flooded with well-wishers.

“Congratulations,” wrote Cody Simpson’s mother, Angie.

“Congratulations,” added Charli Robinson, former Hi-5 star and now Getaway reporter

“The most amazing news,” someone else added.

Australia took action when Sophie, aged two, was rammed through the window of her daycare centre in 2003, trapping her and suffering severe burns.

Burns was left with 85 percent of her body covered after the tragedy, which also affected both of her feet, several fingers and her right ear.

Three years later, tragedy struck again when the five-year-old girl was hit by a car near her home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches while out with her babysitter.

The impact threw her 60 feet from her wheelchair, leaving her with a broken jaw, a broken collarbone, nine broken ribs, punctured lungs, two broken vertebrae and a brain injury.

Sophie suffered a heart attack during the ordeal and doctors at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick asked her family – twice – to turn off her life support.

She made another remarkably good recovery and just a month later she was allowed to leave the hospital and return to school.

In 2023, she became engaged to childhood friend Joseph.
