Sophie Delezio shares baby bump update after announcing she’s pregnant with her first child

Sophie Delezio gave followers a “22 week bump date” on Sunday as she prepares to welcome her first child with fiancé Joseph Salerno.

The miraculous double car crash survivor, 23, took to Instagram to share a video of her growing baby bump, along with an update on her pregnancy journey.

The mom-to-be gushed over her little bundle of joy, saying she has recently learned to “slow down and take care of her body more than ever before” since she became pregnant.

“My god, what a journey it has been so far. This little bundle moves so much and definitely keeps their mom awake at night!” she started.

‘Feeling the movement within is a feeling of pure love and joy. It’s a feeling I will cherish forever.’

Sophie continued, “This recent leg of the journey has taught me how to slow down and care for my body more than ever before.

“I love everything you have already changed in me, my little one. Less than half way until we meet.”

It comes after Sophie revealed she is pregnant with her first child in early April when she shared the exciting news on social media.

The inspiring Aussie and her partner were featured in a photo gallery that showed the couple proudly posing on Sydney’s Manly beach.

The lovebirds looked delighted as they both cradled Sophie’s growing baby bump before showing off a close-up of Sophie’s ultrasound scan.

Australia rallied behind Sophie in 2003 when she was two, after a car crashed through her daycare window, leaving her trapped with severe burns.

Burns covered 85 percent of her body after the tragedy, which also involved both feet, several fingers and her right ear.

Three years later, tragedy struck again when the five-year-old girl was hit by a car near her home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches while out with her nanny.

While gushing over her little bundle of joy, the mom-to-be said she has recently learned to “slow down and take care of her body more than ever before” since she became pregnant.

The impact launched her 60 feet from her wheelchair, leaving her with a broken jaw, broken collarbone, nine broken ribs, punctured lungs, two broken vertebrae and brain damage.

Sophie suffered a heart attack during the ordeal and doctors at the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick asked her family – twice – to switch off her life support.

She again made a remarkable recovery and just a month later she left the hospital and returned to school.

In 2023, she became engaged to childhood friend Joseph.
