Sophie Delezio is pregnant with her first child: ‘The greatest gift of all’

Burn survivor Sophie Delezio is pregnant with her first child.

She shared the wonderful news on social media on Wednesday.

‘The greatest gift of all comes in September!’ she revealed on her Instagram page alongside a baby face and heart emoji.

The photos show the newlywed lovebirds laughing together on a beach and gently holding Ms. Delezio’s belly.

Another shows an ultrasound of the baby on a smartphone.

The Australian legend’s Instagram followers were thrilled with the news.

“The most amazing news,” said one.

“Congratulations to you both makes me so happy to see great joy coming into your lives after all you have been through.”

Ms. Delezio first entered the public consciousness as a young toddler when she was the victim of a horrific car accident that left her with burns to 85 percent of her body.

In 2003, a car crashed through the window of a Sydney children’s center and little Sophie was trapped under the burning car.

In 2006, she was tragically hit again by a car near her home.

She suffered a brain injury and a heart attack in the accident.

Her remarkable story of survival earned her a special place in the hearts of many Australians.

In 2023, she became engaged to childhood friend Joseph.
