A representative for international soccer star Alanna Kennedy has quashed rumors that she reunited with her ex-girlfriend Sophie Cachia at a recent Matildas game.

The 27-year-old Kennedy would have spoken to the 32-year-old influencer on Saturday after the game at AAMI Park in Melbourne, a source said. So dramatic.

Cachia was apparently in the “family section” of the crowd, leading to rumors that the former couple, who dated for several months in 2020, were “on again.”

However, a spokesman for Kennedy strongly denied this in an email to Pedestrian.

Bruce Kaider, the CEO of the sports PR agency representing the Manchester City defender, said his client denies any “alleged interaction” with Cachia at the stadium.

He insisted that the two women were not “back,” adding that Kennedy had not approached Cachia after the game, but had instead spoken to him and a colleague.

Cachia, Mr. Kaider said, was not with them.

The rumors about Kennedy and Cachia come after the former Australian Survivor star confirmed her split from basketball player Maddie Garrick in late October.

Despite not revealing the reason for the split, Cachia hinted at a breach of trust and said she made the decision to “lead by example” to her two children.

The breakup came a month after the couple began a long-distance relationship when Garrick moved to Florence, Italy to work for a local women’s basketball team — and just eight months after they got engaged.

“It is with sadness and great pain that I have sadly made the decision to end my relationship,” Cachia wrote on Instagram.

“When I proposed, I did so with the guarantee of loyalty, trust, honesty and respect on my part.

“Despite the great amount of love I still hold, I made this decision to lead by example for what I know I deserve in life for myself and for my children – because we are all worth it.”

She added, “While I am in pain, life must go on. I still need to show up to work with my businesses and most of all be a mother and role model to my two kids.”

She concluded by saying that she did not expect the relationship to end so quickly.

“Unfortunately this is a position I really didn’t want to be in. So I beg you, please leave me alone, to protect my children and my sanity and allow us to heal and move forward,” she wrote.

“I will not comment further.”

A month before the breakup, WNBL star Garrick had moved to Italy for work after signing with local basketball club Polisportiva A.Galli Basket, leaving Cachia back in Melbourne with her two children, five-year-old daughter Florence and son Bobby van eight.

Prior to Garrick’s departure, Cachia had shared a heartfelt Instagram post stating that their new long-distance romance was doomed and destined to thrive.

She had proposed to Garrick over Mardi Gras weekend in February and given her a huge ring encrusted with three diamonds.
