Influencer and Australian Survivor star Sophie Cachia has denied that she exploits her relationships to stay relevant.
The 32-year-old spoke out after Instagram snark account influencer tea claimed she was using her new romance with AFLW star Sophie Van De Heuvel for publicity.
“I’ve spent ten years dealing with a lot of false things written about me online, and I can handle it. I’m just used to it. I don’t react, I don’t do anything,” Cachia began in a video on Thursday.
“But if false things are written about other people in my life, be they family, friends or acquaintances, please be careful.
“For example, these are real people with jobs, lives, and families… reading things that aren’t true, and just aren’t honest.”

Cachia added that since her split from ex-fiancé Maddie Garrick, she has tried to keep her personal life a secret.
“I actually try to do the exact opposite [of staying relevant],’ she said.
“I’m here to stay relevant with my work and my job and my community and my businesses because that’s my income. That’s how I raise my children as a single mother.’

Cachia continued, “I’m aware that I’ve made some mistakes in the past with how public I’ve been, and I’ve hurt people and it’s backfired in my face.
And I chose not to [anymore].
So please don’t involve my private life and then accuse me of trying to stay relevant. I do not do that.
“And please be aware that other people have feelings and just want to be people.”
The mother-of-two acknowledged that she has built her social media presence by sharing her private life, and one of the reasons she is still relevant is because fans and Instagram accounts are talking about her.
But in reality, the gossips don’t know what goes on behind closed doors, she said.
“So many things happen in my private life that you have no idea about. Okay?’ she said.

Earlier this month, the same Instagram watchdog account, Influencer Tea, revealed that Cachia had been spotted kissing Essendon player Van De Heuvel, 22, on social media app BeReal
“I don’t talk about my private life anymore. And it’s only relevant because people talk about it. I’m not that.
“There are certainly things I look back on and regret, which is why I don’t do it anymore.”
It comes after the same Instagram watchdog account, Influencer Tea, Cachia claimed was “manipulating” her new girlfriend into “publicizing” their romance.

“Why is Sophie Cachia so desperate to go public? To stay relevant in the scene?’ the account asked its followers in a since-deleted post.
Earlier this month, Cachia was spotted kissing the Essendon player, 22, on social media app BeReal.
A phone screenshot circulated on social media, supposedly showing the pair locking lips together in bed, though only Cachia could be seen in the frame.
Cachia and Van De Heuvel apparently got together several times for photos on BeReal and were first spotted kissing at a concert in Adelaide.
