Sophia Bush’s girlfriend Ashlyn Harris has revealed that her marriage to Ali Krieger ended due to a lack of intimacy.
Harris, 39, opened up about the end of their four-year marriage after calling it quits in October 2023.
She recalled asking for an “open marriage” toward the end of their romance as a “last effort.”
Harris — who is now dating Sophia Bush but previously denied cheating on Krieger — shared her insight into why their connection fell apart.
In the latest episode of the Naked sports podcast, Harris recalled how she began to “dissociate” toward the end of their marriage.

“And my therapist knew that right away: It was my ability to sit and suffer, my ability to serve other people before my own wants and needs, that I honestly think probably kept me in that marriage for so long,” she explained.
Harris also spoke about her many attempts to save their marriage before they finally called it quits last year.
“I started trying all these things, like, ‘Let’s have an open marriage,'” she told podcast host Cari Champion before saying she quickly realized it wouldn’t work for them.
“I’m like, that’s just not me, dude,” she said.
“That was kind of my last ditch of, you know, if I don’t get what I want and we want to keep this together,” she continued.
Harris also admitted that there was no intimacy during “the whole part” of their marriage.
“I think she loved the game so much and all she knew was to sacrifice her life for the game,” she said of the footballer.
‘When you add children, it’s a completely different layer. I just felt like I wasn’t a priority.”

She continued, “I didn’t feel that sense of connection, emotionally or physically. It was about football, work, kids, and somewhere along the way I thought, “Okay, what about me?”
“I was so embarrassed and ashamed that I didn’t know how to tell people, ‘Oh, my wife won’t touch me,'” she added.
When asked whether her ex would disagree with her recollection of the events, Harris answered honestly.
“No, she can’t say that because we weren’t intimate for the entire part of our marriage,” she said. “So I mean, the facts are just the facts.”
The former couple first met while playing for the United States national team in 2010, before getting married from 2019 to 2023.
During their marriage they adopted two children: daughter Sloane and son Ocean.
