Oscar winner Octavia, 52, revealed the tragic loss of Sonya on Tuesday, sharing a moving snapshot of the actress and praising her ‘creative angel’.
She wrote: ‘My friend @sonyaeddy passed away last night. The world lost another creative angel. Her legions of fans from @generalhospitalabc will miss her.

The cause of death is currently unknown.
Eddy starred in General Hospital from 2006 as the no-nonsense head nurse Epiphany Johnson, who was the mother of Stan Johnson.
He appeared in 543 episodes in his recurring role.
