Sony confirms PlayStation 5 tech presentation on September 10: is this the reveal of the PS5 Pro?
Sony has confirmed that a surprise PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation event will take place on Tuesday, September 10th, in a move that could see the announcement of the long-awaited PS5 Pro console.
As for confirmed information, this PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation will be β9 minutes longβ in total. It will be presented by Mark Cerny, the lead architect of the PS5 console, and will focus on βPS5 and innovations in gaming technology.β
All eyes will be on all things PS5 Pro-shaped for this presentation. As for the much-rumored and much-hyped console, there are persistent claims that it will be revealed at a Sony presentation later this month.
While many were expecting a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play, which would potentially give us a glimpse at the long-awaited Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 story expansions and more information about Hideo Kojima’s next game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, It looks like we’ll only get some information about a new PS5 Pro model for now.
The announcement, which was made on X / Twitterwas joined by a new PlayStation Blog Post. It gives almost no additional information, but does give us an official air time of 08:00 am PDT / 11:00 am EDT / 04:00 pm BST. It also confirms that you can watch the stream via the PlayStation YouTube channel.
As for what we can expect from the console itself (if it is indeed revealed), Sony recently posted some official PlayStation artwork that seemingly confirmed the design of the PS5 Pro. The artwork showed a console that looked a lot like a PS5 Slim, but with a number of black grooves running along the outside.
PlayStation captioned the artwork βYour first look πβ on Instagram, and since this is the same design that has been shown in previous leaks, it certainly makes sense that this is our first official look at the console.
As for official specs and pricing, we’ll have to wait and see if any new information emerges on tomorrow’s broadcast.
