Sony announces new PlayStation Accessories app that allows for full customization of the DualSense Edge controller on PC

Sony has announced a new way for users to customize their DualSense Edge controller on PC.

As revealed in a new X/Twitter post today, PC players can now fully customize their DualSense Edge controller right from their desktop thanks to the brand new PlayStation Accessories app.

With this app, which you can download hereWindows users can change settings and update the controller firmware directly from their PC. All you need after installing the program is a USB cable or Bluetooth to connect your controller to your PC.

In a short tutorial video posted alongside the announcement, it appears that users will not only be able to change the button layout, but also other aspects of the controller, such as stick sensitivity/dead zone, trigger dead zone, and vibration/trigger effect intensity.

Sony calls PlayStation Accessories the new name for “DualSense Wireless Controller Firmware Updater” in the patch notes for version 2.0.0.13 on the download page. According to them, the update makes “significant improvements to the overall design and user experience.”

The company also recommends that you install the latest update for your app and controller as soon as possible, now that the update has been released.

Sony will increase the retail price of the PlayStation 5 and all its peripherals in Japan, including the PlayStation VR2 and the DualSense Wireless controllers, starting September 2.

The company cites a “challenging external environment,” including the “current fluctuations in the global economic situation,” as the reason for its decision to increase the price of its PlayStation technology.

This means that both the PS5 Standard and Digital Editions will cost an additional 13,000 yen (around $90). This is the third price increase since the console launched in Japan in 2020.
