Son’s mad 137 seconds! Spurs star scores at BOTH ENDS in just over two minutes as his own goal cancels out his opener in frantic start to clash with Man City

Spurs captain Son Heung-min has scored from both ends of the pitch in the opening ten minutes of their Premier League match against Manchester City.

He managed to squeeze the ball past Ederson for an opener in the sixth minute, stunning the Etihad hosts, but the honor even came just three minutes later when a Man City free-kick deflected off him and into the goal, making the score 1-. 1.

Opta calculated that there were only 137 seconds between the two goals, and he is only the second player in history to score from either side in the first ten minutes of play in the Premier League, following Gareth Barry's performance for Aston Villa against Charlton in May 1999.

Speaking about the own goal, former England striker Dion Dublin told BBC Radio 5 Live: 'Nothing Son of Spurs can do about it'.

The previous fastest combination of a goal and an own goal by the same Premier League player in a match was Man United's Jonny Evans, when he scored the goals 167 seconds apart against Newcastle United in December 2012. The Athletic reports.

Just over two minutes later the ball flew off him and into the goal, creating the equalizer

Aston Villa's Gareth Barry was the last league player to achieve the feat in the opening ten minutes

Fans took to social media to share their reactions to the unusual goal. One said: 'I hope Spurs win the game, if not he'll feel really bad.'

Another added: 'That was a big mistake. That shouldn't dampen his spirit. This match has been competitive so far,” while a third commented: “Very funny man, I felt sorry for him.”

However, not everyone was so attentive to Son's plight, with one writing “Soooo Spursy!!”

Tottenham's early lead was quickly extinguished, and things got even worse for the visitors before half-time, when Phil Foden fired home just after the half-hour to give Manchester City a 2–1 half-time lead.

Giovani Lo Celso leveled the scores in the 69th minute, before Jack Grealish regained Man City's lead ten minutes from time.

Dejan Kulusevski equalized for Spurs in the final minute of normal time at the Etihad, and the score remained 3-3 despite late drama when the referee blew up for a foul when Grealish was clean through on goal, despite initial playing advantage .
