Sonic X Shadow Generations is coming to PC and consoles in October

Sega has announced this Sonic X Shadow Generations launches on October 25.

Summer Game Fest 2024 is finally here and we’ve been treated to plenty of exciting announcements, including a world premiere trailer, as well as a ton of game updates.

One of the reveals was the long-awaited release date for Sonic X Shadow Generationswhich arrived alongside an action-packed trailer featuring the titular characters as they storm iconic 2D and 3D levels as Classic and Modern Sonic in this newly remastered version of 2011’s Sonic Generations.

In the game, you play as Shadow the Hedgehog in a brand new story campaign with ‘never-before-seen powers and abilities’.

“When Shadow’s old enemy, Black Doom, reemerges and threatens to take over the world, Shadow must journey into his own past, confront painful memories, face familiar enemies and unlock new powers to save the world and prove why he is known as the Ultimate Life Form”, the game description.

Sonic X Shadow Generations will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and Epic Games.

There will be a standard edition, a digital deluxe edition and a physical Day One edition available.

The Digital Deluxe Edition gives players the chance to play the game three days early and also features additional music tracks from Sonic and Shadow’s previous games, a Terios skin based on Shadow’s original concept, behind-the-scenes art, and an additional Shadow level and skin, and more.

Pre-orders are also available now and fans who pre-order will also receive the epic Sonic Adventure Legacy Skin as a bonus, which is based on his look from Sonic adventure.

Players who pre-order the Physical Day One Edition will receive Gerald Robotnik’s Journal, as well as a 28-page logbook that records Gerald Robotnik’s inner thoughts and drawings during the making of Shadow and the Ark Space Station.

Additionally, players who purchase the game on PS4 or PS5 will also receive extended prologue animations with never-before-seen deleted scenes.
