Sonia Kruger blamed exhaustion on her much-maligned Gold Logie speech last month.
The Dancing With The Stars host, 57, was red-faced after her disastrous acceptance speech, in which she spat out her competitor Hamish Blake while forgetting the names of her relatives.
To enrol Stellar magazine this week, Sonia said she actually forgot to bring her prepared speech to the stage after a long day of walking the red carpet and attending the ceremony.
“When I got there, I realized I had prepared a speech… in my bag. But I was now standing in front of a microphone,” the Big Brother Australia presenter wrote.
‘Don’t worry, I told myself, just fly. So, ignoring the age-old rule that preparation is key (I started talking).’

Sonia said her jokes hit like a “lead balloon” with the “equally exhausted” audience.
“At that point I wanted a hatch to open and drop me right through to a Chinese restaurant and bend a plate of san choy — which is my other happy place.”
Sonia compared her speech to a “car crash in slow motion” that she has been reliving in her own head since the ceremony.
Writing in Stellar magazine this week, Sonia said she actually forgot to take her prepared speech to the stage after a long day hosting the red carpet and attending the ceremony.

“To put it simply, I had dropped the ball,” she said, admitting to letting her family and fans down.
She continued by talking about the toll the speech had taken on her.
“Since then I’ve rewritten that acceptance speech over and over in my head, and it’s time to stop,” she said.
Sonia took a closer look at Hamish Blake during her speech when she claimed their shared agent said, “I think people are a little bit over Hamish.”

She later apologized to the Legomasters host.
When she began her initiations, Sonia was speechless and unable to remember the names of her closest friends and relatives.
“I want to thank God, aka James Warburton (CEO of the Seven Network), who is a genius. My family… their names escape me. They know who they are,’ she muttered.
‘No, I’m kidding! My mom, Deb, happy birthday tomorrow. My brother, of course, Craig and my daughter Maggie and if my dad was here he would just be so proud and this is really for him,” she added.
