Sonia Kruger reveals her most embarrassing gaffe on live camera – and it involves her falling into a famous singer’s lap

Sonia Kruger remembers one of the most embarrassing experiences of her presenting career.

In a candid column for Stellarthe 58-year-old Channel Seven presenter, recalled the moment she sat on pop star Boy George’s lap after a misstep on the set of The Voice Australia.

“It’s like a thousand people are gasping for breath as my life flashes before my eyes,” Kruger said of the horrific incident.

While Sonia was doing her usual walk-and-talk segment, she tripped over a speaker box and fell over.

Time seemed to slow down as she was thrown through the air, much to the audience’s shock, possibly revealing more than intended in her short outfit.

She eventually ended up safely on the lap of The Voice coach Boy George.

“The thing is, embarrassing things happen to all of us… all the time. Right now, we cannot imagine a future where one day we will laugh at ourselves and those minutes of misfortune,” she said.

The audience’s sighs turned to relief and laughter as she quickly switched to a commercial break.

But that’s not the only time Sonia found herself in an embarrassing situation.

Remembering a morning walk through the lobby of a five-star hotel after an evening shoot, she noticed an unusual amount of attention on her.

Having no hair and make-up done left her feeling out of place, but she carried on, only to find out from her laughing colleagues that she was parading around with a strip of hair extensions hanging from her handbag.

“It looked like a border on a tote bag, only in this case it looked more like a merkin bag,” she joked.

She eventually landed safely in the lap of The Voice coach Boy George (photo).
