Son of Super Bowl champion brutally knocks out rival in lacrosse brawl

Elijah Gash, the son of former NFL star Sam Gash, was involved in a brutal lacrosse brawl where he knocked out his rival with a brutal punch.

“Drop the bodies on the ground,” Toronto Rock’s official social media account wrote alongside a video of the blow during their match against the Buffalo Bandits.

The crowd rose to its feet after Toronto’s Gash and the Bandits’ Zack Belter began exchanging punches with just over two minutes left in the third quarter.

Gash’s father won Super Bowl XXXV as a fullback for the Baltimore Ravens, while his brother, Isaiah Gash, is a former running back for the Michigan Wolverines.

Sam Gash also played for the Patriots, Bills and Saints before coaching a number of teams including the Jets and Lions.

However, Elijah plies his trade in the NLL and on Friday the Rock took on bitter rivals the Buffalo Bandits.

SThe tension boiled over after a Gash hit left a Buffalo player on the ground with his stick flying halfway across the field.

Belter intervened and soon both players had removed their helmets and gloves and began exchanging punches.

They were left to fend for themselves as officials watched nearby, until Gash threw a punch that knocked Belter to the ground.

With his disoriented rival lying on his side, Gash attempted to land another right hand before the referees dragged him away and called for medical attention.

The 25-year-old continued to shout and gesture toward Belter, who tried but failed to get back to his feet.

Toronto led 10-9 at the time of the fight, but the Bandits fought back to secure a 15-13 victory over their rivals.
