Some Apple services are DOWN: iOS users are affected by an outage affecting music and the App Store

  • iOS users are reporting problems with Apple Music and the App Store
  • The outage appears to be global, but the number of affected users is not yet clear

Apple Music and App Store have been hit by a global outage.

Hundreds of thousands of users cannot listen to their favorite music or download new apps.

DownDetector monitors online outages and shows that the issues started around 2pm ET and are affecting server connectivity.

Apple’s service page shows no system health issues, but people are flocking to Twitter to share their frustrations with features not working properly.

DownDetector shows that there are floods coming from different countries, from Canada to Spain and China.

The UK is one of the countries affected by the outage, with problems being reported in New York City, Los Angeles and other major US cities.

DownDetectors is showing over 3,000 problem reports as of 2:22 PM ET.

Affected users received an “Unable to connect now” error when loading or searching for content in some Apple apps.

Many iOS users flocked to Twitter to see if others were experiencing the same issues.

Tommy Rugiada shared that Monday was his first time with Apple Music and the service went down.

While others thought the problem was with their own Wi-Fi, they realized the apps had been hit by a glitch.

DownDetector shows 92 percent of the problems connecting to the link server, seven percent of the website, and just under two percent of users unable to log in.

Apple rarely runs into problems, but lately the tech giant’s services have seemed faltering.

Last month, the Weather app crashed for the second time in 48 hours.

Instead of displaying live forecasts, the app displayed a blank screen showing the locations selected by users.

While the System Status site for Apple didn’t report any issues, many users shared the outage on Twitter — which seems to be the same for Monday’s issues.
