A major software glitch has caused travel chaos at Brisbane Airport, leaving passengers outraged by significant delays to their weekend flights.
The outage, which is believed to have affected both the international and domestic terminals, occurred around 9:30 am local time on Saturday.
Brisbane Airport has warned travelers on X that the technical issue would lead to flight disruptions.
“Passengers are advised that some airlines are currently affected by a software glitch, which may cause delays,” the alert said.
‘Contact your airline for more information.’
Frustrated Aussies claimed on social media that passengers on board planes were unable to disembark due to the fault.
“My husband landed at 8:17am today and he is still on the plane waiting for you to park the plane and get off,” one irate woman wrote.
‘It’s 9:11, almost an hour. Is this normal? Why do you keep those passengers waiting?’

Brisbane Airport responded to the complaint, saying the outage has impacted some airlines and led to delays.
Officials provided an update on X just after 2 p.m. to indicate the outage has been resolved.
‘The software malfunction has now been resolved. Please contact your airline for more information,” the warning read.
