A social media user has sparked another fierce debate over airline etiquette after suggesting that travelers should “blow” the air conditioner on passengers who recline their seats too far.
The TikToker, which goes by @DeLKShow on the app, sparked a major debate after he posted a video complaining about people reclining their seats on a flight.
He said it often “leaves no room for him” but that he came up with a solution – he turns on the vent above his seat and adjusts it so it hits their heads – but his idea sparked a huge debate among viewers .
“Unethical life hack: If you’re on a plane and the person in front of you puts their seat all the way back leaving you no room, turn the air conditioner above you on full blast and point it at the top of their head,” he wrote with the video, which has since been viewed more than 1.9 million times.

The TikToker, who goes by @TheLKShow on the app, said he turns on the vent above his seat and adjusts it to hit their heads when people in front of him lean back really far
Some people were all for the idea of TikToker and were quick to praise it, while others were not a fan of it.
“Relax chairs are for reclining,” one person commented.
“When my chair reclines… I lean all the way back. Every time,’ someone else said.
“People complaining about the seats reclining are the worst kind of people,” another user added.
A fourth comment read, “Yeah, I’m not sitting upright for my 10-hour flight, because the seat can’t recline for nothing.”
“Those tickets cost a lot of money, I’m going to do what I want,” another agreed.
“Note to self: bring a beanie on board to wear in case people point their air conditioners at my head,” another joked.
Another user wrote, “You don’t gain extra space by leaning back, you take the room away from the person behind you.”
“I wish I had done this,” someone else replied. ‘That man just told me that the seats are so far back for a reason. I was crushed the whole flight.”

Others instead criticized the airlines and the aircraft’s design, with one person writing, “Why don’t you shift that energy to the airline that designed these planes?”
Others slammed the airlines and aircraft design instead. One person wrote, “They should make sure the seats don’t recline when they pack us in like sardines.”
“I feel like we should take our frustration out on the airline, who put these lines so close together to cram more of us in for more money,” another user suggested.
“Why not shift that energy to the airline that designed and built these planes?” someone else asked. “I will always lean back. I hope you’re behind me.’
Last month, a traveler went viral on Reddit after revealing that he had been criticized by another passenger for leaning back in his seat.
The user who passes @SkyHawk3485opened up about his experience on the Am I the A**hole? subreddit, explaining that it’s hard for him to get comfortable because he’s a “big guy,” weighing 350 pounds and a height of 1.80 meter flights.
“After the thing at 10,000 feet, I look back to make sure the person behind me isn’t carrying a laptop or something, then slowly slide my seat back,” he wrote.
The man, who said he was a frequent flier, added that he “paid first class” and that “the people in the front usually have no problem with it” when he reclines his seat.
“This flight was about four and a half hours across the US, and within 20 seconds of me leaning back, the dude taps me on the shoulder and says, ‘Raise your goddamn seat,'” he continued.
Genuinely surprised, I moved it upstairs to appease the man, but called the flight attendant and told her I intended to put it back after meal service and asked her to notify the man. She assured me that’s my prerogative so I didn’t worry about it.

Aircraft etiquette has been a hot topic of conversation lately. Another topic that is debated is whether you should give up your seat so that a family can sit together (stock image)
“After the meal, I did my routine and reclined the chair. Dude taps me again and says, “I asked you to raise your chair, man.”
“I turn around and say, ‘You can talk to the flight attendant about it.’ He called her to him and she repeated that I had the right to sit back.’
The Reddit user said “that’s where things ended,” but added that the man “glared at him when they left.”
“I just wasn’t about to sit up for more than four hours after paying for a ticket in First. Am I the bastard?’ he concluded.
Airplane etiquette has certainly been a hot topic of conversation on social media lately.
Other users have gotten attention online for discussing things like whether you should give up your seat so a family can sit together, whether it’s okay to take your shoes off, and whether or not parents should clean up after their kids on a plane – as well as the subject of “manspreading,” where guys open their legs so they can be more comfortable.
