Social media has hailed Jon Jones as the “greatest of all time” after his dominating victory over Cyryl Gane to win the UFC heavyweight title.
The MMA legend speared his French opponent and secured the win with a first-round choke.
He has received high praise for his win on social media, with fans tweeting that he “made it look easy” and proved that he “is the greatest of all time.”
By claiming the victory, he also ensured that Drake got a rare betting win, with the musician receiving a total payment of $1.7 million.

Jon Jones became the new UFC Heavyweight Champion after a dominating first round victory.
UFC fighter Sodiq Yusuff praised Jones when he posted: “That’s the GOAT, don’t get twisted.”
UFC Featherweight Champion Alex Volkanovski wrote: ‘Jon Jones doing Jon Jones stuff. He made it look easy!’
In securing the victory, he also “broke” the “Drake curse” after the musician, famous for losing big-money bets, received big winnings after betting Jones would win by submission.
Drake bet a whopping $650,000 on Jones, and was rewarded by the UFC fighter whose victory netted the musician a total payout of $1.7 million.

The Twitter user also praised Jones for how easy he made the fight look.

Meanwhile, Luke Thomas added: “Jon Jones took three years off, switched weight classes and blew the doors off the top contender in a way that made it look comically easy.” If he’s not the GOAT of him, his list needs to be updated.’
Musician Drake won a $1.7 million payout after betting Jones to get a submission win.
The controversial American had not fought for more than three years since vacating his light heavyweight title to bulk up for a shot at the top division.
But there were no signs of rust as he secured the first takedown he attempted, dragging Gane to the ground and making the Frenchman, who has had an immensely impressive young career, look like an amateur.
There were many questions surrounding Jones and what form he would appear in, but he instantly proved the doubters wrong.
Drake’s betting win over Jones comes after he lost a big money bet on Jake Paul to defeat Tommy Fury a week earlier.
On that occasion he lost £335,000 after Paul lost a unanimous decision.
