Social media goes into meltdown as Saturday Night Live destroys Kamala Harris: ‘It’s over. The Democrats have lost SNL’

Recent Saturday Night Live skits mocking Kamala Harris have caused an uproar on social media, as many viewers believe these skits are bad news for the candidate.

The iconic late-night show has aired skits featuring the Democratic presidential candidate since 2019, when she was President Joe Biden’s running mate.

Harris’ character, famously played by Maya Rudolph, has now been thrust into the spotlight as the November election approaches — and SNL fans have a lot to say about her portrayal.

Robby Starbuck wrote on X, “When SNL does skits like this you know they think Kamala is cooked. The mood changed.

“I see zero excitement on the ground for her. To normal people the whole government is a joke. A sick, sad, long joke that we’re done with!’

“You know it’s over when the Democrats lose SNL. They just destroyed Kamala Harris,” reads an X-post from columnist Dustin Grage.

Another person commented on the clip: “Wow. They cannot deny the obvious. I’m glad they’re making fun of how stupid these people sound.”

And a fourth viewer said: ‘This is one of the most hilarious and truthful sketches I’ve ever seen? Is SNL throwing Biden and Kamala under the bus? Make comedy great again!’

While another comedy lover wrote, “SNL went after Kamala Harris again. The left won’t like this at all.’

One social media user said of the show, “Even SNL couldn’t resist challenging Kamala Harris – now you know it’s bad!”

Saturday night’s “Cold Open” was set up as a Family Feud episode featuring the main players from both political parties.

Harris took on Donald Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, in a clip that captured the attention of millions of viewers.

When Steve Harvey, portrayed by Kenan Thompson, asked the players to name something they keep in their glove compartment, Harris pressed the red buzzer.

She gave a long-winded answer about her childhood, but ultimately settled on “a Glock,” referring to a 60 Minutes interview in which the candidate said she owns a gun and “if anyone breaks into my house, he’s going to get shot.” ‘

Tim Waltz, played by Jim Gaffigan, answered the same prompt with some “white nonsense,” as Kenan’s Harvey humorously described the reaction of “hot hands, Runza napkins, and I gotta have Tums, just in case I need something spicy like tomato eat.’

Dana Carvey played a confused Biden, rambling in incoherent sentences.

‘Well, well, well. It says volumes of SNL do real-life skits about Kamala & Biden. But where have they been for four years,” someone wrote on X.

Although some social media users thought this sketch was an attack on Harris, the parody also mocked Trump’s character.

At one point, Harris proved that the Republican candidate can be manipulated “simply by flattery.” She then complimented him, to which Trump replied, “She has my vote.”

“It’s funnier now that they’re making fun of the other side too, lol,” one X user said of SNL, which has been criticized for leaning liberal.

Another said, “I thought Saturday Night Live was liberal. Wasn’t it always true that they bashed Trump?’

In another satirical bit that viewers thought flamed Harris, Rudolph’s character danced on a stage.

“If we win together, we can end the drama,” she said. ‘and the tramala, and relax in our pajamas.’

But others didn’t see the Kamala-centered jokes as anything more than comedic content.

One message read: ‘Conservatives acting like SNL just started the ‘but first a little about me’ storyline. I think it’s so funny because they’ve been doing it since 2019.”

But the overwhelming verdict, according to viewers posting on social media, is that SNL’s smearing of Harris has signaled a turning point in public opinion.

“Don’t underestimate the cultural shift of SNL mocking Kamala. It’s the acknowledgment that she’s toast and permission to walk away from her and her train wreck of a campaign,” one person said.

A sketch last week of Harris and her husband watching the vice presidential debate led people to think SNL was alluding to Harris’ rumored drinking problem.

Someone wrote on X: ‘Kamala is too busy drinking, more like what else is new’

“SNL openly jokes about Kamala Harris’ drinking problem and the fact that Tim Walz is a Knucklehead. A clear sign that Harris’ campaign is in deep trouble,” said another.

“OMG SNL couldn’t resist making Kamala a drunk and her husband a psychopath while Tim Walz says he’s friends with school shooters,” another user chimed in.

Despite online backlash and criticism from Republicans, Harris has shown that she enjoys seeing herself perform on the show.

While appearing on The View, she was seen laughing and clapping at Rudolph’s portrayal of her.

“She’s so good,” Harris said of the actress-comedian.
