Social media has been abuzz over a leaked plan from Wendy’s to make the burger made famous by SpongeBob SquarePants.
The speculation appears to have started when someone claimed to be a Wendy’s employee posted a photo of an announcement from fast food chains to Reddit.
“Starting October 8, prepare for the magic of cultural phenomenon SpongeBob SquarePants!” it read.
“To celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary this year, Wendy’s is introducing its own version of SpongeBob’s iconic Krabby Patty as part of an exclusive Krabby Patty Kollab with Paramount,” the company said.
The iconic burger will be available to customers in the US, Canada and Guam through November 11.

Wendy’s Krabby Patty will be a “premium cheeseburger featuring Wendy’s fresh, never frozen beef, topped with fresh produce and a secret Krabby Patty sauce that captures the magic of the iconic fictional sandwich for SpongeBob fans,” the memo said.
The franchise will also offer Hot and Crispy Fries and a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, it said.
When the meme spread through social media, SpongeBob fans were overjoyed.
“NOBODY LIKES MY GOAT WENDY’S,” one social media user wrote. “NAME ANOTHER RESTAURANT THAT HAS THE SECRET FORMULA OF THE KRABBY PATTY.”
Others joked that the fast food company got its hands on the secret formula faster than the series’ antagonist, Plankton.

Others seemed disappointed by the memo.
“I just found out the Wendy’s Krabby Patty meal is just a new secret sauce on a regular burger with… some sort of pineapple shake and hot, crispy fries,” wrote one X user, sharing a photo of a reclining Snoop Dog.
