Social media erupts over Kamala Harris trying out ANOTHER ‘accent’ with Stephen Colbert
Kamala Harris is facing a new wave of ridicule online after debuting a bizarre new “accent” on Stephen Colbert’s late night show.
Harris continued her friendly media blitz with an interview on CBS’ hit The Late Show, where she lectured hurricane victims and had a beer with the liberal comic host.
Social media users erupted after she used a “fake Jamaican accent” while discussing the importance of empathy.
‘Don’t you have any empathy, man? No. For the suffering of other people. Don’t you feel like it?’ she said.
The furious online backlash started almost immediately when the VP became agitated for speaking with a “Jamaican accent,” similar to iconic reggae musician Bob Marley.
“Wake up baby, the new Kamala Harris accent just disappeared,” conservative commentator Savanah Hernandez wrote on X.

Another added, “Holy smokes Kamala just pulled off a Jamaican accent on Stephen Colbert.”
“Obsessed with Jamaican Kamala,” wrote X user Jebra Faushay, sharing a meme of Harris wearing Bob Marley’s signature hat on thick dreadlocks.
This isn’t the first time Harris has revealed a “fake accent” during his campaign in recent weeks.
Critics alleged the presidential candidate used an accent last month while speaking to a teachers union during a swing state campaign in Michigan.
“The new Kamala accent just disappeared,” one X user wrote in response to a clip of Harris speaking to a teachers union at a high school in Detroit, Michigan, on Monday.
In her comments, social media users claim Harris has adopted an urban accent to identify with the working class.
“You may not be a union member, but you better thank a union member for the five-day work week,” Harris said in a tone atypical of the one she uses in her usual stump speeches.
She continues, “It’s better to thank a union member for sick leave. Better to thank a union member for paid leave. Better to thank a union member for vacation time.”
‘I’m from California. We all talk like this,” one
At another point, an audience member shouted something about her future beyond just the 2024 election.
Harris, still sporting this new accent, responded with a big smile and laugh before leaning over the stage and saying, “Let’s just get through the next 64 days.”
“The new Kamala accent just disappeared,” one user wrote on X.
Harris was in Detroit on Labor Day and spoke to union members at the Northwestern High School gymnasium about the contributions of unions to the workforce.

The vice president is half Jamaican and half Indian. The Trump campaign has accused her of using her blackness to her advantage when it suits her, and has pointed to the fact that she touted her Indian-American heritage when she became a U.S. senator in 2017.
Trump also said in an interview last month during a hostile interview with the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago that Harris only began “promoting” her blackness when she ran for president.
“I didn’t know she was black until several years ago when she happened to become black and now she wants to be known as black,” he said at the annual convention. “So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she black?”

“Kamala Harris code-switches again as she discovers a new accent at a rally in Detroit,” he wrote.
The latest criticism comes after Harris was also mocked in July for faking a Southern accent at a campaign rally in Atlanta, Georgia.
“You all helped us win in 2020 and we’re going to do it again in 2024,” Harris told voters in her fake Southern accent.
Harris often uses a Southern accent when speaking to voters in Southern communities. The VP grew up in San Francisco, California and spent her high school years in Montreal, Canada.
She faced similar criticism on the campaign trail in 2020 when she stuck out her vowels at an event in Florida when she said, “We’ll tell them that we were hanging out in a parking lot with Kamala and all our friends this Saturday afternoon.”
Outkick writer Ian Miller reported on the latest accent use: “At some point Kamala is going to speak in England and adopt a full British accent and everyone will act like it’s completely normal.”
“BREAKING: Kamala Harris unveils a new urban accent in Detroit,” wrote the pro-MAGA account End Wokeness.
“This is cringe,” wrote another. “Kamala uses her new ‘accent’ when talking to a certain group of people.”
