CORONATION STREET
There are three guarantees in Soapland: first, that anything planned as a surprise is going to be a disaster; second, with weddings there will always be a problem with someone getting to church on time; and third, Christmas will never be easy.
So, you knew that when Tyrone was planning a surprise Christmas Day wedding with Fiz, he had disaster written all over him—three disasters, to be precise. And not just written all over it, but ice cream on both Christmas and wedding cakes.
Thinking that Tyrone’s apparent lack of imagination will make Christmas boring, Fiz goes out early on Christmas morning to buy a turkey. He certainly won’t find one at the Cooperative, which hasn’t sold more than three items all year.
However, you can’t blame her for trying after Tyrone gives her a box of chocolates and a key ring. But where did she suddenly get a car to go in search of said turkey?
It was obvious, when Tyrone was planning a surprise Christmas day wedding with Fiz (both pictured) he had disaster written all over him.
Inevitably, the vehicle breaks down on a country road, but leaving your phone at home, where will you find a phone booth? Good luck with that; you’d have a better chance of finding that turkey in Weatherfield.
Who is the walker passing by, Chris, and will he come to Fiz’s rescue? Oh no!
Whenever there’s a phone booth and a lone walker in a TV drama, there’s usually a dead body and a crying dog.
And why does Chris go out alone on Christmas morning? He has he no present to open?
Maybe I’m thinking too much of his part. The only thing that matters is: will Fiz make it back in time for the wedding he doesn’t even know is taking place?
Love is also in the air for Daniel and Daisy, but with the ring stolen in the robbery, will Daniel go through with his plan to propose to her?
It is left to Ken to try to find a solution.
Hey Ken, here’s an idea… Tyrone is at a nearby hotel with a couple of rings in his pocket.

Prisoner Cain has a flashback to the 90s
The prison is probably your best bet if you want to avoid the usual Christmas drama in town. It doesn’t look like that will be the case for Cain when brother Caleb visits him.
Upset by Cain’s lie 30 years ago that Faith was dead, Caleb resents missing out on meeting his family (don’t be, mate; if you did, you’d be grateful for the little favors).
There is a flashback to 1991 that tells the full story behind the brothers’ (young Caleb and Cain) relationship.

How many more layers to Cain can there be? He is the onion that he keeps giving, a therapist’s dream. I have no complaints here.
Liam might as well be wishing he was in prison instead of having to eat multiple meals to avoid hurting people’s feelings. First the Dingles, then Rishi, and finally Bernice, who has clearly been kissing the sherry and is leaning in to kiss it.
Let’s just say it’s not a Hallmark Christmas movie moment.
Leyla is enduring a tragic meal for one at Tug Ghyll, but Ethan is in festive overdrive. Taking the church’s PA system and the disco lights outside, it’s time to have fun.
But not for a tearful Paddy, who is struggling after their breakup. When he accidentally gave Vinny’s dog an overdose of sedatives, Paddy might have found the solution to surviving Christmas in Emmerdale: sleep.
ORIENTAL
Well, come on, it was only a matter of time. Inevitably, the biggest reveal of the year seems to take place tomorrow when the question becomes: Will Scarlett reveal Janine?
Given that the boy has been given so few lines in a story involving an emotionally abusive mother, a cover-up, and only having two meals since January, let’s hope so.
Desperate for answers, Mick (with Linda in tow of course, give him a break, love! It’s over!) chases after a desperate Janine as she flees Albert Square, but will the car chase of the day end in disaster? Christmas?

What is happening at the edge of the cliff? Remember, Janine is shaped with men and steep ledges (RIP Barry). With any luck, Linda’s hideous Quality Street dresses will be one of the things that falls off the cliff.
Or, even luckier, Mick. Because we can be eternally grateful for one thing: it’s Mick’s last day in the Plaza. Taxi for Carter!
Getting stuck on a roof once seems like an accident; twice starts to seem like an oversight. Last month Alfie got stuck on the roof of the Queen Vic; now, it is the Mitchell house. Here’s a message for you, Alfie: you’re not Santa!
Dreaming of a sparkling Christmas…
With children ages 11, 6 and 1, Christmas is a family time for EastEnders’ Kellie Bright. Unlike her character Linda of hers and pretty much everyone else in Walford, she’s going to be having a relaxing time.
‘Christmas dinner is an absolute win-win because I love a barbecue. I’m not a very sweet person, but I do love Christmas pudding.
In The Square, it’s a bittersweet moment for Kellie as she says goodbye to her co-star Danny Dyer (Mick) after nine years. “It feels like the massive end of an era.”
