OSTENDERS
Forget shining knights, the Knight family has revealed itself as knights in tarnished armor.
They make the Vic’s former operators, the Carters, look like the Waltons. And more trouble awaits when the family learns of daughter Gina’s relationship with rapist Dean.
Despite having a huge rocky argument with her disapproving family, and another with Dean, Gina eventually hears the latter out and agrees to give him a second chance.
Luckily, the honeymoon doesn’t last long as the date takes a dark turn and Dean reveals his true colors. Perhaps it makes sense for Gina to ditch her Marbella crop tops and explore her winter wardrobe.
Now it’s only a matter of time before her parents, Cindy and her ex-husband George, get it done, since they have to keep such a close eye on their daughters’ poor choice of men.
This week in the British soap opera EastEnders, Gina is in danger when her family learns about her relationship with rapist Dean
Yes, Sister Anna didn’t make a good choice either, and Cindy is unhappy when she sees Anna and Bobby leaving number 45 after spending the night together.
She tells Anna she can do a much better job than Bobby, and I’m with her. With bells on.
But Anna is adamant and insists that Bobby is a good guy. Leaving aside the teeny-tiny issues of killing his sister – and Dennis’ house spider, let’s not forget.
Not to mention his attack on Jane. But his worst crime? He’s just really boring.
Why does Kat agree to a date with Nish even though Stacey tells her the truth about Eve? What is she thinking?
“Okay, buddy; You arranged to have your wife’s lesbian lover murdered and dumped in a forest, and yes, you went down for killing a man you thought was her lover, but hey, we all have our problems.” These aren’t just skeletons in his closet; He’s a real walking mortuary.
The fact that he can walk at all isn’t good news for Suki, who is scared when Nish tells her his memory is returning – but is it?
In exchange for not going to the police, he wants Suki to transfer their companies to him. Time for another bottle over his head, I think.
CORONATION STREET
Can Ed please win the lottery? There are even more money worries when the bailiffs arrive, although it is difficult to imagine what they could take with them to cover costs of more than a fiver. If the sale of the construction site falls through, does Ed’s hardship have anything to do with setting it on fire?
Michael runs in, looking for Ed, but gets trapped as the fire spreads. Will he be saved? Let’s hope. We could use some hot firefighters to brighten things up; How long can the show keep Ken becoming a major heartthrob?
There is light in the dark passionless tunnel with the arrival of Tommy Orpington, last seen in late 2023 at Preston’s Petals. When Tracy hires the ex-Weatherfield striker (seemingly their only player ever until James Bailey arrived) to do some decorating, it’s a fresh coat of paint amid all the doom and gloom.
Steve is excited by his hero’s presence, but how long until Tracy gets her dirty paws on him? I think it’s not just the walls he’s going to strip.
In Coronation Street, Michael (pictured) rushes in looking for Ed, but becomes trapped as the fire spreads.
Dee Dee’s despair over Dad’s debts
The new year has started badly for Corrie’s Dee-Dee, who is struggling with Ed’s debts. With mother Aggie still away (who is caring for the sickest aunt in the world), will Dee-Dee have to go the extra mile to help her father?
“She feels the pressure,” says Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays Dee-Dee, “because she wasn’t there the last time it happened. But things are going beyond her control.”
EMMERDALE
Angel is terrified after spilling the beans
With Heath’s funeral over, attention turns to the police investigation, and Cathy is furious when Bob suggests they wait for the forensic results.
If the police had trouble tracking down serial killer Meena, don’t expect those results to come back in your lifetime, Bob.
This week on Emmerdale, Angel is left terrified after spilling the beans
Jimmy makes Nicola uncomfortable by telling Angel to keep lying to the police about her guilt, but unable to bear Bob’s suffering, the youngster confesses everything (below with Nicola and Jimmy) and is terrified when she is arrested for causing death by dangerous driving. Relief. That must be a relief for the forensic team, who can now go to the pub.
Chas’ kiss with Liam barely had time to dry before things turned sour when he discovered a lump in her breast, and at the hospital it’s bad news when she’s diagnosed with cancer. Inevitably, she struggles, but this is the kind of storyline that saves lives by encouraging women to be vigilant.
Nate’s suspicions are finally aroused about Tracy’s possible infidelity. You’d think that always looking like she’d been dragged through a hedge backwards would have been proof enough. Bless him. He was never the leanest carp in the herd.
