SNUBS 2023 Oscar Nomination: Brad Pitt, Taylor Swift and James Cameron
The nominations for the 2023 Academy Awards were announced early Tuesday morning.
At the top of the list was Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Banshees of Inisherin, which swept many categories.
Even Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick movie received a lot of love with five nominations, though Cruise himself wasn’t nominated for his performance.
But several contenders were left off the list. Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie were not recognized for their work on the Hollywood epic Babylon. and the movie it did not make the coveted Best Picture category.
Taylor Swift did not receive a nomination for her popular song Carolina from the movie Where the Crawdads Sing.
And two movies, The Woman King and Nope, received no nominations.

James Cameron was not noted for directing Avatar: The Way of Water, though the film did receive several other nods, including Best Picture.
RRR didn’t get much attention except for Best Original Song.
Paul Dano didn’t get a nomination for his performance in The Fabelmans and Danielle Deadwyler was left off the shortlist for Till.
The Woman King, starring Viola Davis, and Jordan Peele’s Nope, starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, did not receive any Oscar nominations this year.
And Black Panther: Wakanda Forever didn’t make the Best Picture list.
On Tuesday morning, Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams announced the nominations for the 95th Annual Academy Awards, which will take place on March 12 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. The ceremony is scheduled to air live on ABC.

A rare move: Swift, seen here in her video, is usually included in prizes.
Tom Hanks’ wife, Rita Wilson, was not included in the list for her original song Till You’re Home from her husband’s film A Man Called Otto.
Selena Gomez also did not receive a nomination for her song My Mind & Me which accompanied her docu of the same name.
Several stars did very well on Tuesday morning.
Best actress will be a draw between Cate Blanchett in Tar and Michelle Yeogh, who won the award at the Golden Globes for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Tom Cruise missed out on a Best Actor nomination, with Austin Butler (Elvis) and Brendan Fraser (The Whale) leading the category instead.

The way: Avatar: The Way Of The Water garnered several other nominations.
All Quiet on the Western Front, a German-produced film, earned multiple nominations, as did Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The award ceremony will be hosted on March 12 by Jimmy Kimmel. Allison Williams and Riz Ahmed announced the nominees Tuesday morning.
Only a few have been announced so far, including Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, and Best Sound.
This must hurt: The Woman King didn’t receive any nominations despite star Viola Davis working hard for attention.
Along with Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Banshees of Inisherin garnered multiple nominations.
Over the past five years, the once-beloved show’s ratings have plummeted steadily.
Last year’s drama with Will Smith and Chris Rock revived the hectic numbers, but also turned the prestigious event into a mockery.
Jimmy Kimmel to Host the 95th Academy Awards on March 12
This year’s awards season kicked off with the Golden Globes on January 10.
Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans won Best Picture, and The Banshees of Inisherin won Best Picture: Musical/Comedy.
Cate Blanchett won Best Actress for her performance in Tár, while Austin Butler won Best Actor for his role in the Elvis biopic.
Angela Bassett won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Key Huy Quan won Best Supporting Actor for Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Top Gun: Maverick, one of the highest-grossing movies of recent years, was snubbed at the Globes.
Kimmel previously hosted the event in 2017 and 2018, when ratings were considerably higher than in recent years.
