Snoop Dogg watches Noah Lyles cruise into Olympics 200m final with the American’s mom – while wearing a T-shirt featuring sprinter’s face

Snoop Dogg is an indispensable figure for the American contingent at the Olympic Games. His last performance was at the Stade de France.

Snoop watched the men’s 200-meter semifinals alongside Noah Lyles’ mother, Keisha Caine Bishop, who wore a T-shirt with the sprinter’s face.

Bishop and Snoop watched as one of the favorites for a gold medal at this distance easily qualified for the final, but failed to win his heat.

Letsile Tebogo from Botswana won the second of three semi-finals with a time of 19.96 seconds.

Lyles finished second, ten hundredths behind, with a time of 20.08 seconds.

Both Tabogo and Lyles came into the 200m race clearly knowing that the top two runners from each heat automatically qualified for the final.

The world record is almost a second faster than Lyles’ time. Incidentally, his gold medal in the 100-meter sprint was not a world or Olympic record.

The finals will be held on Thursday afternoon. Lyles hopes to become the first American in 40 years to win both the 100 meters and 200 meters at the same Olympics.

The last American to accomplish this feat was Carl Lewis at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Snoop has been at the Olympics, sitting next to A’ja Wilson during the U.S. basketball team’s quarterfinal match against Brazil. He has also appeared at skateboarding competitions and gymnastics events, dancing in the crowd as Jordan Chiles and Simone Biles follow along.

If Snoop is any good, we expect him to be back at Bishop’s side for Thursday’s 200-meter final.
