‘I’m the real Bo Jackson’: SNL blasts fanciful George Santos as a lying NFL reporter who claims to lead the league in passes AND runs, but his tall tales still aren’t nearly as weird as the ones he actually tells.
- Saturday Night Live mocked lying Congressman George Santos last night
- SNL portrayed Santos as an NFL reporter with a resume of fake credentials
- Bowen Yang played Santos and said he had more wins than Tom Brady
- The real Santos has been caught up in a litany of lies and fabrications about his life.
Saturday Night Live lashed out at lying Congressman George Santos in its cold opening last night, portraying him as an out-of-depth NFL fringe reporter with a laundry list of fake football credentials to his name.
On the show, comedian Bowen Yang played a Saints who claimed to have led the league in rushing and passing to be the “first African-American quarterback to dunk a football,” calling himself the “real Bo Jackson,” a athlete known for building all-star teams in both professional football and baseball.
But the claims made by the sketch Santos didn’t come close to the absurdity of the true Republican’s lies, which, to name just a few, included claims that he was descended from Holocaust survivors, that his mother was in the South Tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11, and who saved thousands of pets through a charity that never existed.
SNL also criticized Santos’ virulent and false denial that she ever performed as a drag queen in Brazil under the name ‘Kitara Ravache,’ by having Yang strut around onscreen in a wig and dress while dancing to the title song of the NFL.

The sketch began with an NFL postgame panel parody discussing a game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles.
After some talking, the panelists introduced a new reporter, Rep. George Santos, who they said had such a strong resume that they “had to give him a chance.”
Some of his purported credentials included winning “more championships than Tom Brady and being a “Heisman Trophy winner.”
Yang then appeared wearing a Santos sweater, blazer and signature glasses, saying he was “here reporting live from the Super Bowl.”

SNL’s Santos then went on to make a series of ridiculous claims about his professional football history, and when asked where he played college football, he replied “the college’s college.”
He then went on to recap the Eagles-Giants game, stating that he himself had led the field in a series of impossible feats that included making “12 touchdowns, 17 rebounds, and ten RBIs” and “36 of 25 passes.”
He also added that Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had awarded him an Oscar.
The commentators then tried to take Santos off the broadcast, saying, “I’ve been told that some of those stats aren’t accurate and maybe you didn’t play in the game.”
