Sneak peek at new thriller Apples Never Fall from Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty as show is set to debut on Binge next month

Binge has announced that their new limited series Apples Never Fall will be released on March 14th.

The seven-episode drama, based on the bestseller by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty, stars Sam Neill and American beauty actress Annette Benning.

And a new teaser trailer for the drama reveals what fans can expect from the intense mystery thriller.

Set in the US, the plot revolves around how a mysterious young woman turns the quiet life of recently retired couple Stan and Joy Delaney (Neill and Benning) upside down.

Things turn sinister when Joy disappears.

The couple’s four adult children begin to investigate their parents’ seemingly ‘perfect’ marriage and what they discover are some very disturbing secrets.

Neill, 76, known for his heroic roles, appears to be playing a character dealing with dark emotions.

At one point in the trailer, Stan (Neill) is seen attacking another character with a tennis racket.

In another scene, Neill’s character appears to be nursing a bloody scar on his face.

In other scenes we see characters get into a fight during an argument.

The trailer contains some lighter moments, including a scene showing Neill and Benning enjoying a speedboat ride on a beautiful river.

Also appearing in the cast are Mad Men actress Alison Brie and Jake Lacy from The Office US.

Produced by Heyday Television, part of Universal International Studios, the showrunner for the limited series is writer Melanie Marnich of Big Love and The Affair.
