A man is fighting for life in critical condition after being crushed by weights in an unmanned inner-city gym.
Emergency services were called to the Snap Fitness gym on Turbot Street in Spring Hill, in Brisbane’s CBD, at about 5:47am on Thursday following reports that a man had been caught under weights.
Paramedics provided treatment before he was transported by ambulance to Royal Brisbane and the Women’s Hospital in critical condition.
It is believed the man was freed from the weights by emergency personnel at 6:20 a.m. before being treated.
The 24-hour gym is only staffed between 10 AM and 7 PM Monday through Thursday and between 9 AM and 2 PM on Friday.
