One of Australia’s best-loved snacks has been pulled from store shelves in two states over fears of contamination.

Customers have been warned not to eat Smith’s Crinkle Cut Salt and Vinegar flavored chips if purchased from stores in NSW and Queensland.

The recall was prompted by the possible presence of plastic in some bags.

“Food products containing bits of plastic can cause injury if consumed,” a recall statement reads.

‘Consumers are not allowed to eat these products. If consumers have these products, please contact The Smith’s Snackfood Company to arrange a refund.”
