Smite 1 will have less and less respect for players, says executive producer

Titan Forge Games has confirmed that its beloved free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) To beat will remain playable for as long as fans want to play it, even after the upcoming release of Hits 2.

Hits 2 was announced today (January 12) and promises massive improvements to the visuals, innovations to the playable characters and much more. The plan is currently to begin alpha playtesting this spring, so players will likely be able to dive in within a few months.

In a press conference attended by Ny Breaking Gaming (TRG), it was made clear that there is still a dedicated (albeit smaller) team working on To beat while other developers focus on the sequel. That said, no new gods (playable characters) will be added to the original after the next 130th.

Furthermore, speaking to TRG, Titan Forge Games claims that “they are different games, and we intend to continue treating them as different games.” To beat‘s executive producer, Alex Cantatore, explains that as it exists To beat player base enjoys “very hardcore features”, Hits 2 offers the team the opportunity to ‘reset that level of complexity’. The sequel allows the developers to focus on making some of the core things on the map as interesting as possible, without adding more and more on top of it. He adds: “It’s a slightly different design philosophy between the two games.”

Furthermore, Cantatore tells us that he should keep a large part of the decision To beat run was to ensure that the team truly respected “our players and the time, money and attachment they have” to the original. Furthermore, the developers ultimately want to “ensure players are happy.”

“If you want to keep playing Hits 1, it’s great that you can keep doing that for as long as you want to keep doing it,” he explains. “Especially if you have a PS4 and you can’t afford any PS5or you have an older PC, we want to make sure there is still one To beat for you to be able to go outside and play. And some people will prefer that.”

Hits 2 is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series|S.
