Small plane crashes in Pennsylvania neighborhood; injuries not clear

WEST CALN, Pa. — A small plane crashed in a central Pennsylvania neighborhood on Thursday and it was not immediately clear if there were any injuries, authorities said.

According to police, the crash happened in West Caln around 1:30 p.m. The pilot was the only person aboard the plane when it crashed just minutes after takeoff from nearby Chester County Airport in Coatesville.

The plane ended up between a house and some trees. No homes were damaged and no injuries were reported at the scene.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it is under investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board also responded to the scene.
