Small kitchen? No problem: with the small stand mixer from Kenwood you can make up to 48 cupcakes and it fits almost anywhere
Kenwood just unveiled a pair of new mixers designed for small kitchens that are just as powerful as many large appliances but take up far less valuable cabinet or counter space.
The Kenwood Go Stand Mixer costs £249.99 (about $330 / AU$480) and is just 30cm tall, making it easier to tuck it into a pot drawer or store it on a shelf more easily. For comparison: the classic Kenwood kMix stand mixer is 35 cm high, and the KitchenAid Classic Tilt-Head stand mixer requires a headroom of 36 cm.
Unlike many compact mixers, which are usually made of plastic, the Kenwood Go Stand Mixer has a metal body, giving it a premium feel, and has beginner-friendly controls placed front and center. There’s even a handle on the top so you can easily move it around the kitchen (a problem I’m all too familiar with).
Mobile mixing, no mess
If you don’t bake breads and large quantities of cupcakes, the Kenwood QuickMix Go may be better suited. This hand mixer packs into a lunchbox-like case that you can tuck in between your cookbooks when not in use.
The case contains the mixer body, plus beaters, kneaders and a measuring spoon. If you’ve ever made a mess by accidentally ejecting your mixer’s beaters while preparing something, you’ll be happy to know that the QuickMix Go has a release button on the front to prevent this from happening again. There’s also a slow start to prevent batter and cream from being thrown around the room and five mixing speeds to choose from.
The Kenwood QuickMix Go is available now for £39.99 (around $50 / AU$80), and like all units in Kenwood’s Go range, the new mixers come in two colours: storm blue and clay red.
