A popular Australian cafe is to close its doors permanently after citing ‘rising operational costs’ as an insurmountable problem.
Slate Cafe, an Instagram hotspot in Bennett Springs, Perth, will close on Sunday, June 23 after almost eight years in business.
The beloved pet-friendly cafe has remained open so far through the pandemic, road closures and ever-increasing costs of living, but recent rental and resource complications have forced a shock closure.
“Increasing operating costs have made it very challenging for us to continue operating in this current climate, and with all our increasing commitments elsewhere we have not been able to give Slate Cafe the time and attention it deserves,” the company revealed. café runners on Instagram. .
