Slack’s latest AI boost gives you notes from even the smallest meetings
Thanks to a new update to Slack, it’s soon going to be a lot easier to keep track of what’s said in even the shortest workplace conversations and meetings.
The online collaboration platform has revealed that its ‘huddles’ – quick-start meetings designed for impromptu chats and catch-ups – can now use the Slack AI platform to generate notes for users.
Slack AI uses real-time audio and messages sent in the huddle to create a transcript, so participants can keep track of exactly what was said and by whom.

Once the huddle is complete, the transcript and notes are shared to a Slack canvas, complete with quotes and action items. The notes are visible to everyone in the channel or direct message that hosted the huddle, meaning even members who couldn’t attend can keep track of what happened.
Elsewhere, Slack also unveiled several other AI-powered upgrades, including full integration with Agentforce, a major new release from parent company Salesforce.
Designed to enable the “third wave of AI,” Agentforce enables businesses to interact with their data in ways never before possible, connecting unstructured data in a way that gives customers new insights and a better experience for everyone.
It’s not just Salesforce’s AI agents getting involved: the company has announced that a number of third-party AI agents are also coming to Slack, including Adobe, Anthropic, Cohere, and Perplexity.
This move marks the latest step in Slack’s AI developments, which have been advancing steadily over the past few months.
According to the company, customers have summarized more than 600 million messages, saving a collective 1.1 million hours across all users since Slack AI launched in September 2023.
“We’ve gone beyond collaboration to millions of teams using purpose-built AI every day, seamlessly integrating customer data, automation, and now employees into the flow of work,” said Denise Dresser, CEO of Slack.
“It’s not just about getting work done. It’s about unlocking new levels of productivity to drive results and move business forward for every team and department. In today’s increasingly complex work environment, true productivity requires a work operating system built for the future of work — and that’s Slack.”
