Slack Lists aims to make project management easier than ever – and save you stress and money while you’re at it
Top online collaboration tool Slack has made its bid to become your company’s project management assistant with a new feature that looks to save time and resources.
The new Slack Lists tool allows users to monitor and manage their work without having to maneuver between a series of difficult apps or channels, keeping the focus in one location and working productively.
The company says lists will “bring structure to conversations in Slack,” helping to save not only the time spent performing monotonous tasks, but also the money spent on unnecessary or useless software.

“Lists help you turn conversations in Slack into actionable tasks that move work forward,” said Denise Dresser, CEO of Slack.
“Now those individual next steps shared in a project channel can be followed by the entire team. With project management in Slack, organizational teams have everything they need to complete projects faster and increase productivity using the full power of Slack.”
The company says lists can help with a wide range of use cases, with the ability to bring multiple workflows and tasks together on a single platform, boosting collaboration for companies of all sizes.
Project management is undoubtedly one of the biggest use cases, with lists allowing teams to track the progress of all kinds of work from start to finish, moving tasks through different phases with seemingly limitless customization and scaling options. Tasks can be tracked as they progress, with employees able to quickly edit or review anything that needs to be changed, ensuring nothing is left behind.
When tasks require extra help or collaboration, lists allow employees to engage colleagues or other resources in a conversation through message threads. Teams can also use Slack’s Workflow Builder tool to automate small or routine tasks, freeing up employees for more productive tasks.
Lists are available to users everywhere, will be included in all paid Slack subscriptions, and will roll out globally in the coming months.
