Gold Coast influencer and former Big Brother star Skye Wheatley has come under fire for posting ‘insensitive’ video of the horrific Sea World helicopter crash that killed four people on Monday.
‘Wtf is wrong with her. People died. Why is it her first thought to film it?’ one person questioned.
“I just don’t think she understands severity,” another commented.
“It shows such a clear lack of empathy that the first thing you’d think to do when you see an accident is pull out your phone and record to show people you saw it,” said one.
‘Why feel the need to post it on social media?’ a questioned room.
Wheatley, 28, posted a video he filmed of the tragic accident to his Instagram Story on Monday.
Following the backlash, Wheatley posted a tribute Tuesday to the four people who died in the tragic incident.
“Can you all pray with me for the families affected by yesterday’s devastating events? I feel sick to my stomach today and am praying for everyone at the hospital,” he wrote.
‘[I’m] taking the day off from social media, counting my blessings and I want to be present with the family… I know many families are hurting a lot today and I send them all my love and prayers.’

Pilot Ash Jenkinson was among four people killed when the Sea World EC130 helicopter he was flying collided with another helicopter in the air before plummeting 30 meters near the Sea World theme park.
Sydney’s mother, Vanessa Tadros, 36, and British couple Ron, 65, and Diane Hughes, also lost their lives.
Ms Tadros is believed to be related to the British couple and had been on holiday with her family when she boarded the helicopter with her 10-year-old son Nicholas, while her husband stayed behind.
Nicholas survived the crash but was left in critical condition and has already undergone four surgeries since being taken to the hospital.
The boy is still unaware that his mother has died as his devastated family remains at his bedside.
A 33-year-old woman and a nine-year-old girl related to Ms Tadros are also being treated for serious injuries.
The pilot of the second helicopter, which had five passengers on board, miraculously managed to land on a sandbar in the middle of the Broadwater, and everyone on board was able to get away.
Following the backlash, Wheatley posted a tribute Tuesday to the four people who died in the tragic incident.
