Skye Wheatley has responded to criticism after she was criticised for undergoing liposuction and several other cosmetic procedures against the advice of her plastic surgeon following a fox eye lift this week.
The former Big Brother star addressed her concerned followers directly and someone who said she is the reason girls have low self-esteem.
The 30-year-old Australian influencer is currently in Turkey recovering from a partial facelift, after first raising alarms when she said she was going too far by requesting another nose job after having one done in 2021.
Skye visited her plastic surgeon after arriving in Turkey for her controversial cosmetic ‘fox eye lift’ procedure.
This minimally invasive procedure uses dissolvable threads to lift and lengthen the eye, giving it a more almond-shaped, upturned look. The effect typically lasts six to twelve months.
“I can’t show my face yet, it’s too scary for me. But as I heal further, I will show the process, don’t worry,” Skye shared on her Instagram Stories on Thursday.
“Show us so we won’t be afraid,” one follower wrote to Skye on Thursday night.
“Hahaha no, it’s horrible,” she replied.

In addition to a fox eye lift, Skye has also had liposuction on her arms and inner thighs, a temporal lift and a bletharoplasty
“But I know this is what it’s going to look like. I trust the process. I’ve also vlogged it all so you can see what it looks like every day when I upload the video.
“I’m just documenting this for other girls who are going through this surgery because it’s reassuring to see the whole process from start to finish.”
She added that the recovery from the procedure has been “overwhelming” but that she has to be “patient” for the results.
On Thursday night, Skye invited her fans to ask her questions and began sharing her answers on her Instagram Stories.
“What did you have done?” someone asked.
Skye said that in addition to the fox eye lift, she also had liposuction on her arms and inner thighs, a temporal lift, and a bletharoplasty.
She explained to fans earlier this week why she had the thread lift for her fox eyes, which lasts for about six months
Skye said she didn’t want to show her face after all the procedures because she found it too “horrible” and “scary” at the moment.
A temporal lift is a fat graft to the face to avoid the need for injectable dermal fillers. A bletharoplasty is an eyelid correction.
My doctor said there wasn’t much fat on my arms or legs, so [he] “It only took a little bit and from what I can see of my arms so far, I’m very happy,” she wrote on her Stories.
‘My legs don’t look much different, probably swollen.’
Skye answered another question on her Instagram Stories, listing every plastic surgery procedure she’s ever had.
This means she will have to undergo surgery on her nose, her breasts (twice), her arms, her inner thighs and her face.
Skye then gave advice to another follower who said she was “scared” to travel to Turkey alone to undergo such a procedure.
The influencer said she couldn’t open her eyes for three days after the fox eye lift: ‘It was quite distressing being in a foreign hospital with no vision.’
“Why did you get liposuction if you’re so fit?” another follower asked Skye.
‘Because [it] “No matter how fit you are, you will always have stubborn fat spots!” wrote Skye.
“I’m not really that fit. Yes, I work out daily, but my diet isn’t perfect. I have too much of a sweet tooth. I’m obsessed with sugar and food in general. I’m a big eater, lol.
“He wasn’t even going to do it, he said there was hardly any fat in it, but I insisted.”
“I don’t want to hate you but YOU are the reason girls suffer from low self esteem,” one follower wrote.
“Everyone suffers from low self-esteem at some point,” Skye wrote back.
‘I know it’s sad because I see the beauty in others, but somehow it’s always different when you look at yourself… and I’m open and honest about my surgeries because I do NOT want other girls who haven’t had surgery to feel like they’re not ‘good enough’ or ‘not pretty enough.’
“Everyone is beautiful, with or without surgery, but I think it’s even more damaging if you get all those enhancements done without being honest about it,” she continued.
‘There [are] so many girls online who have had surgical enhancements and don’t say anything. I don’t want to be one of those people.’
“No doubt about it,” the fan replied to Skye on Friday. “I wish you could see how beautiful you are just the way you are.”
“Thank you baby, it will never change who I am inside and I guess that’s all that matters,” Skye said.
‘It’s very confronting to talk about operations, because no one really says anything about it. But I don’t know [sic] I’m so fascinated by the process that I think, why shouldn’t I talk about it, when everyone else is doing it?’
Skye said she “can’t stand” it when people lie about the work they’ve had done and believes it’s “more damaging” when public figures don’t acknowledge how they got their bodies.
Skye documents every step of her latest plastic surgery project on social media and shares why she’s doing it.
The I’m A Celeb….Get Me Outta Here! star said she “can’t stand” it when people lie about the work they’ve had done.
‘It irritates me immensely. I think it’s much more damaging than being open and honest about it, because then young girls think you’re born that way, when you’re not.’
This comes as fans, other influencers and media personalities debate whether Skye might be addicted to plastic surgery.
The Pronounced Podcast gave their opinions on Skye’s eye lift consultation video on Tuesday, with sisters Amy, Sophie and Kate Taeuber sharing their concerns.
“I don’t want to get too deep into it because I know it’s ultimately Skye’s decision what she does with her body, but I find it so upsetting because she’s only 30,” one person said.
“She looks so young. She’s a stunning woman.”
Skye has had many cosmetic procedures
Another pointed out that Skye was willing to be so transparent to avoid young women worshipping her beauty and wondering why they couldn’t have it.
“It’s really a catch 22 because it’s good that Skye is transparent, but some of her videos could be seen as her promoting the surgeries and encouraging young girls to have these types of surgeries too,” the researchers said.
Skye’s TikTok page was also flooded with concerned followers who responded en masse to the comments on her most recent vlog in Turkey, in which they let the influencer know that she doesn’t need a fox eye lift or a new nose job.
