Legendary Formula 1 interviewer Martin Brundle is facing a marriage crisis, with he and his wife reportedly spending time apart.
The iconic Sky Sports pundit has been married to his wife Liz for almost 40 years, but the couple are now taking a break.
Brundle is currently based in Austria for Sky’s coverage of Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen will start from pole position.
However, the former driver is facing off-track issues while he is away after it emerged his marriage is under strain, reports The sun.
Brundle – born in King’s Lynn and still living there – married his high school sweetheart in the 1980s and has two children together who are both in their 30s.

Brundle and his wife are still married but are now distancing themselves from each other while they decide on their next steps.
Commenting on her wedding, Liz told The Sun: ‘We’re spending some time apart but we’re married and together.’
Brundle is often away from home as his work schedule is largely dictated by the Formula 1 calendar, which travels around the world between March and December.
The racing veteran is one of the most popular characters on the grid and has a strong bond with drivers, crew chiefs and celebrities attending events.
His brash, no-nonsense interview style has made him popular with racing fans worldwide, but he has also rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s biggest celebrities, most recently with Kylian Mbappé’s security team in Monaco.
Due to the demands of his broadcasting work, Brundle will be travelling to Austria, England, Belgium and the Netherlands over the next month.
Brundle has become the go-to person for grid walks and an authority within the sport, having attracted attention with his commentary on the Christian Horner saga at Red Bull at the start of the season.

Red Bull previously conducted an investigation into team boss Horner’s conduct in a volatile scene for the sport with the reigning championship garage and F1’s top brass in crisis mode.
Brundle said at the time: ‘It’s a global story. I think it’s been a damaging story for Christian and Red Bull and the whole of Formula 1.’
Horner received the support of his wife Geri Halliwell at the time and has so far delivered another season of dominance for Red Bull and championship leader Verstappen.
Brundle is expected to be at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday to do his usual pre- and post-race interviews.
